Alfredtina Young was born May 22, 1961, in Oakland California. Alfredtina (Tina) was the youngest of seven children born to Rose Marie Roger and Alexander Young. Tina was raised in Oakland California, She attended Golden Gate Elementary, attended Hoover Jr. High, and graduated from high school at Skyline High School. As a young child Tina, was a member and attended Star Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Oakland California, In 1989 Tina moved to Sacramento California. Where she remained until her passing. Tina was known by many as "Momma or Nanny", she helped everyone, she provided a home for many who didn't have a place to stay, she was a woman with a very large heart. Her favorite past time was watching her favorite shows like ER where she could experience what it was like to be a doctor saving lives. But her all time favorite was wrestling, She would watch it any and every time it would come on, family and friends would come and watch it with her, but if by chance you didn't like wrestling, you would!!! because she would have you "HOOKED". Tina lived a simple life due to her handicap, but she lived her life with joy and to the fullest. Her love for everyone gave her great fulfillment, and her grandchildren gave her so much joy. Her grandchildren loved to go shopping with their "Granny" this is what they called her. The kids knew going shopping with Granny, they knew that they would get whatever they wanted, the best part was for them was riding on Granny's wheelchair down the street, mind you the adults love that ride too, as much as the kids. She was preceded in her passing by her mother Rose Marie Roger, father Alexander Young, her sisters Rosella Washington, Christine Woods and Marie Young, and brothers Lamont Young and Robert Young. She is survived by her older sister Denise Young of Elk Grove CA. She is also survived by her husband Glen Franklin, daughters Tina Franklin of Sacramento, CA., Rochell Franklin of Oakland CA., son Nathaniel Franklin of Sacramento CA. Grandchildren, Jawuan Hamilton, Ashawnti Hamilton, Elijah Palmer, Malaijah Moore, De'An Preston, Tru-Lee Preston, Gerald Preston Jr., Eric Preston II, Nathanial Franklin Jr. Four nephews and Two nieces. Goddaughter, Cheisa McElroy, god granddaughter Zaryea Johnson, Roger McMillan Jr. who was her lifetime brother-in-law of Sacramento CA., close friend of family and godmother of seven of her grandchildren, LaTrenda McMillan of Sacramento CA. Although everyone may not been mentioned by name, you all were very special to Tina.
