DECEMBER 4,1963 - MAY 16, 2025

On Friday morning, May 16, 2025, God dispatched the Angel of Peace to escort His faithful and devoted servant,

Anita Gaye Craig to eternal rest.

Anita was born on Dec 4, 1963 at Landstuhl Army hospital, near Ramstein Air Base, Germany, the youngest of four children gifted to Milford and Susan Craig. Shortly after her birth, the Craig family moved to McGuire Air Force Base, NJ then Romulus Army Depot in upstate NY, followed by a return to Kaiserslautern, Germany and then Sacramento, CA where Milford Craig finally retired with his family in July 1972.

Anita attended John F. Kennedy High School where she indulged in her passion for swimming, theater, and music. She played the clarinet, and was in the choir and a jazz band. She graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Sacramento, CA in 1981.

Anita later enrolled in Consumes River College. While attending, she modeled, and did performative dance and theater. She also starred in the hit play "Jesus Christ Superstar". It was during this play production that she met Jeffrey Wright. They soon married in 1984 and they had three sons; Nicholas Wright, Brandon Wright, and Justin Wright.

She attended and was a member of Calvary Christian Center, and served in their ministry for some time in her later years. Anita has always been a woman of great faith and despite lifes obstacles, she never lost hope.

Anita was a "Jill of All Trades" and although she spent decades working in finance, her real passion was food. She loved to cook and always had aspirations to open her own eatery. She was a self-taught chef who spent her free time in the kitchen cooking with love and creating new recipes when not spending time with her 5 grandchildren or her sons and daughter-in-laws. She had an affinity for the outdoors, and loved camping with her boys whenever the opportunity presented itself during their upbringing. Most don't know she was quite an accomplished painter, studying under a well-known artist during her youth in Germany. Not to mention, she had also received the highest accolade possible as a girl scout in her youth, the Gold award. Anita had seen the world before entering motherhood. She constantly shared fond memories with her 3 boys of her travels to the Eiffel Tower, Berlin Wall and Roman Coliseum, to name a few. And let's not forget she was a DIE HARD 49er fan. Every season from September to January, you could find Anita in her living room, TV on, decked out in 9er gear with her matching throw blanket, rooting for her favorite team to win. To those that knew her best, Anita's door was always open to any kind soul just looking for an ear to listen, a bite to eat, or a place of refuge and safety from lifes pressures. She played the therapist, mother and confidant to her 3 boys' close friends that have now become family. She was always willing to help anyone trying to help themselves and was big on accountability. To some, she was Anita; to most, she was "Mom's" and loved by everyone.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Catherine (Craig) Arterberry.

Treasuring Anita's life and legacy are her devoted children, Nicholas Wright; Brandon Wright (Ashley Wright); Justin Wright (Tyshenia Wright) Grandchildren - Hasani, Susan-Love, Amari, Isaiah, and Kira. Sister - Vivien (Craig) Knight (Stephen Knight), Brother - Stanley Craig, nieces and nephews and a host of young adults who affectionately called her "Mom" as they were growing
up because she always treated them like her own.

She's at peace now and finally with her parents and her sister. Anita was independent, vibrant, feisty and stubborn; yet her heart and love were undeniable. You'll be forever in our hearts. We love you and we miss you.
