Christy L
Malone
Jan 13, 1975 — Dec 2, 2017
Christy Laverne Malone was born in Carmel, CA on January 13, 1975 to Brenda Dorsey and Raymond Malone who were natives of Pacific Grove, CA. Shortly after her life of being an only child, she was blessed with two younger siblings, Shelia McIntosh and Chaunte McIntosh both residents of Sacramento. Christy became a resident of Sacramento in 1989 and attended Rio Tierra Junior High. Then she went on to be a Pacer at Grant Union High School.
You could always find Christy listening to old school rap or hanging out battle rapping with her friends. She was very good at writing poems as well. Christy had a contagious smile that would light up any room. With that beautiful smile, she caught her high school sweetheart, Louis Hernandez of Sacramento, that soon became a long-term relationship. They were blessed with two children Ashanti Hernandez, of Topeka, Kansas and Christopher Hernandez of Sacramento.
Christy enjoyed family time where she would love to play Trouble and Yahtzee while eating great food. She enjoyed going to the movies and everyone knows she had a movie collection at home bigger than Blockbusters! Christy loved the ocean and was proud to be from Pacific Grove. She loved to listen to Gospel Music and would attend service when she wasn't having a lupus flare.
Christy was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Edward L Varnado. In her spare time, she would scroll through Facebook as "Sweet Thang" commenting on photos, videos, and just reaching out to those she hadn't seen in a while. She enjoyed spending time with her grand daughter Maryah and video chatting with her grandson Mariano. Christy was also into any and everything African. She truly loved her Motherland.
Christy will forever be remembered by her mother Brenda Dorsey, Sisters Shelia and Chaunte McIntosh, her children Ashanti and Christopher Hernandez, her grandchildren Maryah and Mariano Hernandez. Two aunts, Linda James and Cynthia Dorsey of Monterey, Ca. Four uncles, Perry Dorsey and Chris Dorsey of Sacramento and Ricky Dorsey (Carol) and Joey Dorsey of Monterey, Ca. A host of cousins and friends that will miss her dearly. One thing we do know is that Christy is living pain free and enjoying the presence of the King!
To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord! Rest easy Sweet Thang! Fly High!
