"I FOUGHT THE FIGHT OF FAITH "

Classie Lee Currie passed away December 6,2020 peacefully at home in Antelope California after a chronic illness. Classie was born  to Dan Merritt and Carrie Brown on November 28,1924. Classie married the love of her life Steve Currie in 1953 they were married 47 years, He preceded her in death in July 2000.  Classie is survived by her Stepsisters Louise Brown and Rosa Lee Wyatt of Jacksonville, Florida. Classie leaves to cherish Her daughter Delores Currie-Porter of Antelope, California , Kim Currie of Orlando, Florida her son Steve Currie ,III of Orlando, Florida. Classie leaves to cherish 5 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren 2 great grandchildren 1 great great grandchild. Classie was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Levi Perry Merritt and her sister Queen Esther Jackson. Classie leaves to mourn her passing a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Classie was employed by Mid Florida Technical Institute in Orlando Florida for 23 years. Classie was a woman of God with strong faith , She organized the Modern Majestic Club, she was President  for 60 years . Classie's ministry was about helping and serving people. Classie organized many charitable organizations and events. Classie was a member of 910 Livingston Street Church of God In Christ until she came to California where she then united with New Testament Baptist Church in North Highlands, California.

Classie was definitely a woman of "class" everything was always done to perfection.

Classie's family wishes to express their gratitude for the enormous cards and expressions of sympathy.

God began a new journey for Classie when she came to California and he placed people on the journey with her so that she could make the journey. A special  thanks to Lee Washington as her Caregiver,  Laurie Peterson, Denise and Orangie Lee Miller of Orlando Florida for their faithful communication , New Testament Baptist Church, Mercy Medical Group/Dignity Health, specifically Ophthalmology Department, Including Namrita Gogia,MD and Pratikshya Acharya FNP  for their constant support and guidance.
