Claudius Cummings born on September 1, 1945 in Pasadena, California to parents Eddie and Muriel Cummings. Claude was the second of eight children.

Claude attended Fremont High School in Los Angeles, and after graduation enlisted in the Marine Corps. He was an active duty service man During the Vietnam War and becoming sergeant, before honorably discharged. Claude was awarded multiple honors including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Certified Sharpshooter, and the high precedence Combat Action Ribbon.

After returning home from the war, Claude enrolled at San Jose State University and completed his bachelor's degree in African American Studies. Soon after, he married Ola Smith and they had twins, Kendra and Yusef.

Claude career began as a systems programmer and he later excelled as an independent paid consultant. Claude loved to travel, He always encouraged his family to travel and took them on many trips and excursions.

Claude enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to music and being social in a party atmosphere. He loved having a good time and loved to see people enjoying themselves and having fun.

Claude loved to cook, his favorite meals to make were lasagna and grilling on the B.B.Q. pit. Most recently he completed a Culinary Cooking class. Claude's tenacity, determination and confidence were unquestionable. He took care of his family honorably and respectfully.

Claude was down to earth with a relaxed calm demeanor he did not like to be called "Mr. Cummings", he preferred "Claude". He wanted to be approachable to all and of course speaking his mind with firm language if needed!

Claude is preceded in death by his mother and father, five brothers and sisters, Robert, Johnny, Gwendolyn, Brenda, and Vicki. He leaves behind his youngest sister Anita and eldest brother Eddie, half-brothers Joe Bernard, Anthony, and Nabil. Children Kendra and Yusef, grandchildren Miraj, Malik, Jaden, Jalon, Yunia, Jazz, Khalil and Sufia, and three great grandchildren: Messiah, Kayden, and baby Khaius expected February 2021, Many nieces and nephews and host of family and friends.
