Obituary

Remembering….. Our Beloved

Dawayne Lamont Johnson "Weezy" age 30 went home to be with the Lord on May 03, 2019 in Sacramento, CA. He was born in Vallejo, CA on June 16, 1988 to Terrie Lynn Cook and Darryl Lee Johnson Sr. Wayne was taught Christian values at an early age. He later confessed Christ and was baptized at the age of 9 at Tabernacle of David Missionary Baptist Church in Vallejo, CA under the leadership of Reverend Robert L. Mccray who was his Pastor.

Dawayne grew up in Vallejo, CA during his early childhood years and later moved to Sacramento, CA in the year of 2000. Constantly striving to be the best man and father he could be Dawayne achieved many professional accomplishments in a small amount of time. Each one seemingly greater than the last one. He was particularly proud of his graduation from the Culinary Arts program at Sacramento Job Corps in 2011. A man of many talents, he was also a self-proclaimed barber following in his uncle Jairus Cook's footsteps. He enjoyed cutting hair because it gave him the flexibility to spend time with his children and the ability to help the lower income people in his neighborhood.

He was the life of the party. He never passed up a chance to entertain the family with his performance to Michael Jackson's "Remember the Time." His countless cookouts and turf dancing with his little cousins are a couple of things that will be greatly be missed about him. It would be an understatement to say that we wouldn't also miss that seafood boil that Dawayne perfected so well.

Dawayne was "Indeed" a Momma's Boy. He literally talked to his Momma 10 to 20 times a day.

Later on in his adult life Dawayne rekindled a relationship with his father. That really meant a lot to him due to how devoted he was to his family.

In his final days Dawayne enjoyed spending time with his children, including his niece and nephews. He devoted his time to keeping smiles on their faces. If he wasn't present with them he was talking to them on the phone. They frequented restaurants, movie theaters and parks. He was all about kids. His and every one else's. Dawayne was a gentle soul that will greatly be missed.

Dawayne began his legacy with his first of three sons Chrystian Gonzales, then came Dawayne Johnson Jr.. Soon after, he began a new relationship and became a father to a young boy by the name of Giovann Drew. Through that union he welcomed his 3rd son, Gerrell Johnson, and finally his "Princess Mommy," Gisselle Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his Great Grandparent's, Emelda and George Lee Cook; Great Grandmother, Ida Mae Bell; Aunt, Leona Walton; and Uncles, Leo Cook and Herman Cook.

He is survived by his Mother, Terrie Lynn Cook and Father, Darryl Lee Johnson Sr.; Granparents, Nelson and Cynthia Cook, Evelyn and Joseph Haletkey, Grandmother, Barbara Rivers and Grandfather Clarence Johnson; Four Sons, Chrystian, Dawayne, Gerrell, and Giovann; One Daughter, Gisselle.
