Deborah was born on September 8, 1959 in Indio, California to the proud parents of Arthur Lee Caraway and Viola C. Caraway.

The family relocated to Sacramento, California in 1965. Deborah attended Coloma Elementary and Fern Bacon Junior High School(s). Deborah graduated from Luther Burbank High School, and later went on to Sacramento City College, where she obtained her Associate of Arts Degree in Administration of Justice.

Deborah joined and accepted Christ in 1967, at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Sacramento.

In 1977 Deborah transferred her membership to the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where she was very active in church ministry. Deborah served in the New Membership Department as a Sunday School Teacher, she also participated in the Youth Choir and served as a Youth Choir President for a period of time, and she participated in the Young Adult Choir.

In 1981 Deborah joined the City of Sacramento Police Department as a Police Clerk. She loved her job and was promoted to Supervisor in 1984. She transferred to the Sacramento City Human Resource Department where she worked from 1990 to 1995. From there she transferred back to the Police Department as a Forensic Technician.  Crime Scene Investigations was her passion and she served the City faithfully in that capacity until June 2010 when she retired.

In 1987 Deborah met the love of her life, Dwayne. In 1988 they were married, and to this union two beautiful sons were born, Dwayne and Derek. Deborah's husband was an active member of New Hope Baptist church, so she decided to move her membership to New Hope in 1989 to be with her husband, while at New Hope, she served as a Sunday School Teacher for the Youth Department, Announcement Clerk, and she served on the Adult Usher Board.

In 2013 Deborah transferred her membership back to St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Security Ministry and participated in the Combined Choir until her health prevented her from doing so.

Deborah was a committed wife, and an amazing and wonderful Mother. She was a true and faithful Servant of the Lord, her Church, job and the community. Deborah was a beautiful person inside and out, she could light up a room whenever she was present. She was and still is, truly loved,  and will be forever missed by all those she touched.

Deborah is preceded in death by her mother and father, Arthur Lee and Viola C. Caraway, brothers, Donald Caraway, Arthur Caraway Jr. (Junior), and Kenny Caraway.

She leaves to cherish her husband Dwayne Moland, beloved sons, Dwayne Carl, Derek (Karen) , Granddaughters, Delaina and Kassidy, Grandsons, Devon and Dominic, sisters, Doris Dandridge, Karen Brown (Darrin), Patricia Glaze (Thomas), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Deborah will be sorely missed by all, but as we know, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
