Della
Owens
Feb 27, 1936 — Aug 10, 2020
Sacramento
Born Della Mae Vickers to George and Lucille Vickers on February 27, 1936 and raised in Ocela, GA. She moved to San Francisco, California where she met and married Millard Owens, Jr. She had nine children; Havey Lee, Philip, Joyce, Patricia, Millard III, Lionel, Anthony, Darnell and Charletta.
She was a God fearing woman, turning her life over to Christ at an early age and attending First Union Baptist Church under Rev. Reason, later Pastor H.L. Davis Senior, then H.L Davis Jr. Before her passing, she attended service with Pastor Tillman Wade at Unity Missionary Baptist Church of Sacramento. She always set a Godly example for her children and others. She would never be caught smoking, drinking, or swearing.
She worked for over 30 years at Mary's Help/Seaton Medical in Daly City as a nurse until she retired.
She was compassionate and loving without fail, a dedicated mother, grandmother and friend, always putting others before herself while endlessly generous with time and money. She forgave those who wronged her without reservation, which was one of her best qualities. No one will ever be able to fill her shoes.
She will always be remembered by family, friends and loved ones. And you will always her think of her saying "PRAISE THE LORD".She is survived by her sisters Bettie Anne Nicholson and Minnie Lee Mauldin, her grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, family and friends. She is predeceased by her husband and her children Philip and Patricia.Link to view recorded service:
