Donald Ray Peters Sr. was born on February 20, 1938 to the union of Gillie Peters and Lena (Bracy) Peters in Wharton, Texas; the youngest of four children. He accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age and was united with Shiloh Baptist Church, then he became a member of Family Bible Fellowship both in Sacramento. Donald Ray received his formal education in the Sacramento Public School System, attending C.K. McClatchy High School. He also attended Sacramento City College. He was employed by UC Davis Medical Center as a Cook Supervisor for 20 years. And later he worked for the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department. And after retirement he owned Pete's Handyman Service, he also did some catering. In his leisure, he enjoyed flag football, softball, basketball, bowling and was awarded rings for perfect scores, and fishing. He coached Pop-Warner Football, Airport Little League Baseball, Hoop-It-Up Basketball Tournaments, and girls softball teams. His favorite teams were the Sacramento Kings and San Francisco 49ers. He loved life, and his family, he always aspired for bigger and better things for himself and all his family. He was a very kind-hearted man, always full of ideas. He was also a member of The Ebonites Bowling Team of Sacramento, CA. Donald Ray Peters Sr. was united in holy matrimony with Alzena Rice on November 4, 1962 in Sparks, Nevada. Their union was blessed with three wonderful children: Sherry, Donna, and Donald Ray Jr. Donald Ray Peters Sr. departed this life on April 20, 2013. His brothers Robert Peters and Herman Peters, sister Lena Mae (Peters) Andrews, his parents Gillie and Lena Peters all predeceased him. He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters; Sherry Peters, and Donna Peters-Coley, one son; Donald Ray Peters Jr., all of Sacramento, CA, four cherished grandsons; Frank Coley Jr., Christopher (Raquel) Coley Sr., Cory Peters, and Miles Andrade, one loving granddaughter; Maya Peters, two great-grandchildren; Aaliyah Coley, and Christopher Coley Jr., three nieces, four nephews, three very close first cousins; Robert (Irma) Bracy of Morgan Hill, CA, Benjamin Bracy of American Fork, UT, and Edward C. Bracy of Sacramento, CA. He also leaves many other cousins, relatives and countless friends.
