Edith Patricia
Stewart
Feb 14, 1955 — Mar 9, 2020
Scaramento
Edith "Pat" Stewart, age 65, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2020, at home in Sacramento, California. She was born February 14, 1955, in San Francisco, to Lawrence Mayfield and Josie Ruth King. She was a 1973 graduate of Mission Senior High School and attended Alameda College for business. She met her best friend and married Alfred Stewart on February 16, 1982 and together they shared three children. She worked for Safeway for many years, but her true passion was being a foster parent for 19 years. She became a member of Capitol Christian Center in 1992 under the pastorate of Dr. Glen Cole. Edith was a warrior for Christ. She was an usher and participated in activity programs. Pat truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, singing, baking, cooking and playing bingo. Pat had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. She will truly be missed.
She is survived by her husband and best friend of 43 years, Alfred Stewart, her children, Munique Bozeman, Gregory Lanier (predeceased), Alfred Stewart Jr., and her adopted sons Chris Lee, Alex Tobar and Keran Watkins. She leaves behind siblings, Ruth McGraw, Lawrence Mayfield Sr., Duncan Mayfield Sr., and George Mayfield, 19 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, lots of nieces and nephews, four brother-in-laws, four sister-in-laws, and many life long friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, and sisters.
