Obituary

Goldie passed from this life the evening of May 5, 2023. Goldie was born in Oklahoma City, OK on January 19, 1932, to Gertrude and Major Choice Rainwater. Goldie has been known to have two birthdays. One on May 19th and the other on January 19th, but for many years she has celebrated January 19th as her official birthday. She moved to San Francisco, CA in 1969, from Omaha, NE with four of her six sons Ronny, Jacky, Tony and Alfred and her 4 yr. old daughter Thelmajean. A couple years later she had a second daughter that she named after herself Goldena. Goldie and her kids moved to San Francisco following her love for George Hickerson, who later became her husband. Goldie went to San Francisco City College, where she studied counseling and became a counselor for the City of San Francisco, in the Child Welfare Department.

Goldie and her kids lived in the Fillmore and Double Rock area for a couple of  years and later settled in the Bay View Area, where she purchased a home. Goldie was so proud of owning her first home. She knew when she saw the backyard that she had to have it, because she loved gardening so much. Goldie grew everything and when I say everything, I mean everything. From carrots to green beans to sunflower seeds. Her and her husband George, who called her Big Honey, often went camping and fishing with the kids all over California, but mainly in Clear Lake, where they later purchased a Hotel in Ukiah, CA.

Goldie is survived by her sister June Loving and five children Alfred James Williams, Anthony Rue Williams, Ronald Ernest Williams, Thelmajean Mosley and Goldena Lorene Alaniz and son-n-law Michael Mosley, and Robert Alaniz. She has 17 grandchildren, Shelly Gilmore, Wyshaun Johnson, Andrea Woodard, Trenae Starks, La Nesha Mickles, D'Artanian Woodard, Ashante Donalds, Shannail Coleman, Anthony Collins, Neesha Thornton, Artez Woodard, Alicia Johnson, Jacky Williams III, Brandon Williams, Preston Johnson, Brittany Clark and Andrei Woodard II. Goldie has 40, great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren. And a host of nephews and nieces and relatives and friends. Who all loved her very, very much. She was preceded in death by her parents and son's Louis Cantwell, Andrei Woodard and Jacky Williams. One granddaughter Lisa Ann Cantwell, Two grandson's Jacky Williams II, and James Mickles and a great grandson Pierre Starks.
