Obituary

Janie Lee Jones was born September 1st, 1965 in Coolidge, Arizona to the
late Deacon Isaac Jones, Sr. and Hattie Ruth Black Jones. She attended
school at Dover Elementary (Fairfield, CA), Armijo High School (Fairfield,
CA), and John F. Kennedy Highs School (Sacramento, CA) of which she
graduated in June of 1984.
Janie dreamt of becoming a fashion designer. She would spend hours
throughout the day designing formal gowns and evening wear.
Unfortunately, Janie didn't follow her dreams. Janie started working for the
Federal Government. She worked there from 1985 to 2008. She enjoyed the
people she worked with.
Although Janie did not follow her dreams of becoming a fashion designer
she found other ways to be creative. From 1998 to 2000, Janie had written
and produced several plays. The plays were performed at First Full Gospel
M.B.C. She chose church members and others to be part of the cast. The
very first play she wrote was called "Peer Pressure". Janie felt the need to
express her concerns with how people allowed peer pressure to destroy their
lives. She wrote the play for young adults to participate in and get a better
understanding of how peer pressure can affect their lives and the choices
they made. The play was a great success.
At an early age Janie was baptized at First Baptist Church in Fairfield, CA.
In march 1980 Janie was one of the founding member of First Full Gospel
M.B.C. At the age of 16 she became the assistant Sunday School
Superintendent. Three years later, at the age of 19 she became the Sunday
School Superintendent. For a few years she was the president of the choir.
She was a faithful choir member. The very first song she lead was "I
bowed my knees and cried holy".
Janie was preceded in death by her father, Deacon Isaac Jones, Sr. She is
survived by her mother Hattie Ruth Black Jones. Four Siblings - Isaac
Jones, Jr., Jewelyn Jones, Wendell Jones, and Carla Jones., all of
Sacramento, CA. Five nieces - Aja Jones, Los Angeles, CA, Shalindra
Jones, Sacramento, CA, Rebecca Ziegler Jones, Jacksonville, FL,

nephews - Julius Harris, and Isaac Christopher Jones, both of Sacramento,
CA. She also leaves behind a host of great nieces and nephews, aunts,
