Ponchie as we call him was born Jose Armando Tamayo the second on January 8, 1972 in San Jose California to Mr. and Mrs. Jose and Gail Tamayo. Ponchie had five siblings, two older brothers Christopher Tamayo and Gregory Running Elk, an older sister Monique Lattimore and two baby sisters, Tracy Walker and Jammie Tamayo.

Ponchie spent his early years in San Jose where he attended Andrew hill high school, and shortly after married and had his first son Kevin April 1998. Following his divorce he relocated to Sacramento where he met Sarah and their love produced Ricky and Jesse Tamayo Sep  2005 and March 2007. A few years passed he met Mary Jane who later gave birth to his son Malachi April 2014. He was then married to Adrianna who gave birth to his son Jaden October 2015. At the time of his passing he was with the beloved Alexandria who gave birth to their baby girl Mya Tamayo September 2020.

Ponchie was a loving and devoted friend and father. If you loved him he loved you and he loved hard. He was very mild mannered very outgoing personality and easy to get along with any crowd. Ponchie always helped if he could and never went looking for trouble, he was the life of the party always on the go hardly ever slept or stayed in one place for too long. He wanted to see the world and all that it had to offer for him.

Ponchie loved all of his extended friends and family, Diane Clay and Tommie who are dear friends to our family and have been taking care of Ponchie for the past 8 years.

Jose Armando Tamayo, father, brother, and uncle and our dearest friend unexpectedly transitioned to be with the lord on November 20,2020 lived his life to the fullest extent possible and he will be missed but will never be forgotten
