Obituary

This is the day the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it – Psalm 118:24

Jurell Kirk Patterson was born June 30th 1989 at Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento, California. Named after the father of Superman, he would embrace his superhero strength and faith that would have a lasting impression on friends and family forever.

His passing occurred on Friday, April 13th 2018 and came after a life-long battle with sickle-cell anemia at Sutter Medical Center. He will always be loved and survived in spirit by his Mother TeAreiy, Father Barry, sister Sequoia, and Brother Royce.

He grew up in North Sacramento, attending Foothill Oaks Elementary, Foothill Farms Jr. High and Foothill High School. He graduated from OFY and later began to pursue higher education at University of Phoenix, majoring in Multimedia Development, primarily focusing on graphic and web design.

Jurell soon after found the perfect use of his meticulous and artistic ways and embraced his new found passion by barbering and giving clients his perfect "Relli cut". He planned on completing his licensing and opening his own barbershop with creative such names "We Got Hands," "With the Grain," or "Rell's Barbershop." He also planned on creating specialized products such as "Wet it" and "Hold it" hair spray conditioners, "Mature" sent catered to elders and "Fresh" scent for everyday use.

Mind Your Circle-

His loving smile and contagious laugh touched everyone he encountered. Often described as cool, chill, calm and collected, it's his bright smile that will last with everyone. This smile was often on his face from an early age from his love of comedy movies like Ace Ventura Pet Detective, Mrs. Doubtfire, Blue Streak, Friday, and Nothing to Lose.

Business Before Pleasure-

His personal notes show he was just days away from re-enrolling in his barber apprentice program, completing a vision board for his 5-year plan, executing a financial budget, and recently recommitted to reading the Word regularly. He asked for three things: Pray for understanding and guidance, Giving God his undivided attention and applying devotions to his life.

Faith means being sure of the things we hope for and knowing that something is real even if we do not see it. Faith is the reason we remember great people who lived in the past.  – Hebrews 11:1-2
