Kenny was born on February 10, 1957 in Indio, California to the proud parents of Arthur Lee Caraway and Viola C. Caraway.

Kenny accepted Christ at a very young age at First Baptist Church in Indio, California.

The family relocated to Sacramento, California in 1965 where Kenny attended elementary and junior high schools. He graduated from Burbank High School in 1975 and went on to attend Sacramento City College for a short period of time.

Kenny married Cheryl Rivers in 1981, and later in life married Tina Caraway.

Kenny had a work ethic that was unmatched. This was solidified when he worked for the City of Sacramento spanning two decades. He later worked as and handyman and landscaper until his death.

Kenny enjoyed life and spending time with his sons, grandson and family. He always had a funny story to tell or recall when around family and friends. A good laugh or timely punch line was never lost on him. Life did not always deal Kenny a good hand but when he fell down on his luck he never gave up. Kenny had the resilience and grit to get back up and keep fighting the good fight. Through his trials and tribulations his spirit remained both strong yet kind and his outlook always positive.

Kenny's love for his family showed through his presence at nearly every family gathering and personal acknowledgement of everyone's birthday. He especially shared close bonds with his sisters. Kenny knew in life that his sisters were his keepers. Opportunities to chat, visit, or break bread together was the glue that kept their bond strong. To further depict his love of family Kenny dropped everything to travel to Los Angeles for the birth of his one and only grandson that had other plans to be born a week after Kenny returned home. Kenny followed through with his word and made sure he was there when expected to be.

Kenny loved sports and his favorite sports teams were the Oakland Raiders and the Los Angeles Lakers. Being the avid sports enthusiast, he was, every Friday afternoon Kenny looked forward to listening to his eldest son's weekly sports show on KDEE 97.5. He also enjoyed the times his son Jay would come and spend the night and hang out with him. Strengthening bonds with his children was important. It was also truly special to witness Kenny's bond with his nieces and nephews from the eldest to the youngest. They all loved and related to him the same.

Kenny is preceded in death by his mother and father, Arthur Lee and Viola C. Caraway, brothers, Donald Caraway and Arthur Caraway Jr. (Junior), and wife, Tina Caraway.

He leaves to cherish his beloved sons, Kenny Caraway and Justin (Jay) Coleman, Grandson, Rhys Caraway, sisters, Doris Dandridge, Deborah Moland (Dwayne), Karen Brown (Darrin), Patricia Glaze (Thomas), and Louise Redd, loving companion, Janet Green, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Kenny will be sorely missed by all, but as we know, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
