LaMica Roshawn Barnett, 46 of Sacramento, CA passed away peacefully on May 7 th , 2020. LaMica was born on June 21, 1973 in East Palo Alto, CA to her parents Theresa James (Sacramento, CA) and David Barnett (Portland, OR). She graduated in the Class of 1992 from Cordova Sr High and shortly after she attended Sacramento City College and then she went on to Texas Southern University where she studied Sports Medicine.

LaMica was an active member of STC The Well Church. She was employed by Paratransit for 6 years and she was looking forward to starting her new journey with Regional Transit. LaMica loved being active within her community and definitely made sure she helped anyone as much as possible. She was an active volunteer with Women's Empowerment and the LGBTQ Community Center. LaMica was a very loving, kind, talented and smart woman who positively impacted all those who came in contact with her. She loved enjoying life to the fullest, spending time with family and traveling the world.

LaMica is survived by her mother Theresa James, father David Barnett, two sons DaQuan Barnett-Katz and Terrion Barnett-Ruiz (Sacramento, CA), fiancée Shaleiskia Bell (Sacramento, CA), sister Kimberly Barnett (Portland, OR), two nephew who reside in Portland, OR, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. LaMica is preceded in death by her grandmother Louise James.
