Minister LaShelle Danie McClain (fondly known to her family as
LaSherill, Shelle, and, Cheryl), was born June 16, 1959 to Reverend
Arthur and Gloria Turner of North Little Rock, Arkansas. She is the
fifth child of seven siblings. LaShelle attended NLR public schools and
continued her professional education at Pulaski Vo-Tech. She was a
certified Phlebotomist and excelled in her profession for over 30 years.
LaShelle Danie McClain departed from this life and went to her
eternal home on her 65th birthday, June 16, 2024. She was preceded in
death by her first husband, Private Willie Lee Danie, her second
husband, Dr Douglass McClain; parents, Arthur and Gloria Turner;
brothers, Carl Carter and Arthur Turner Jr.
She is survived by two sons; Lamont DeShawn Allen of Houston, Tx
and Robert T. Allen III of Little Rock, Ar; two daughters, Latricia
Denise Allen-Williams (Ellis) of Whitehall, Ar and ShaMik'a Danie-Hill
(Anthony) of Grambling, La; god-daughter and caregiver, Le'Ana
Dayrit; four sisters; Catherine Faye Brantley (Ras) of Seattle, Wa,
Apostle Sandra Gilliam of Maumelle, Ar, Dr Josalyn Broadway of
Maumelle, Ar, Vanessa Parker of North Little Rock; thirteen
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
LaShelle was greatly loved by all and easily recognizable by her
beautiful smile. Everyone she came into contact with managed to leave
better than they came whether it was her patients at St. Vincent
Infirmary in Little Rock or at UC Davis in Citrus Heights, Ca. She was
an avid bowler and could take you down in spades. Although her love
for recreation was incomparable, her love for Christ and the gospel
was unmatched. She was an ordained minister and skilled in the art of
praise and worship.
She was loved by her family and losing her is a great loss. Her death
will be felt throughout the states of California and Arkansas.
