Obituary

Marlon Jerome Cox was born April 3rd, 1972 to Valerie Davidson and Dr. Anthony Wallace in Akron Ohio. Marlon was raised in Akron, Ohio with his mother Valerie and his adopted father, Darryl Cox Sr. He received his formative education in Akron public schools, graduating from John R Buchtel Community Learning Center.

Marlon accepted Jesus Christ as his lord and savior at an early age and was baptized.

Marlon, at the age of 18 relocated to Sacramento California to live with his father Dr. Anthony Ramsey Wallace and step-mother Chanda Ramsey Wallace. He continued his education at Sacramento City College. He resided in Sacramento until he answered the call of his lord and savior Jesus Christ on September 16th, 2019.

Marlon worked several jobs during his lifetime. Most recently he worked for the State of California, Office of the Secretary of State until his passing, where he was very much loved for his daily devotional messages to staff, his ability to make people smile and his hard work ethic.  Marlon was also known for his love of fundraising, whether for the church or another organization, he could convince an Eskimo to buy snow.

Marlon was a housekeeper extraordinaire, he kept his home immaculate. His home and style was always clean and fresh. Anyone who knew Marlon knew his style and tennis shoe game was vicious.

Marlon faithfully served as the New Membership Coordinator at New Direction Christian Center under the leadership of his father.

Marlon was an avid sports fanatic. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and LeBron James. Wherever LeBron played Marlon's heart followed, most recently with the Los Angeles Lakers. The only thing that Marlon loved more than sports was his family, most cherishing his two daughters, Marlynne and Porsha.

Marlon was preceded in death by his grandparents.
