Marribell Imogene Shelton-DeWildt, was born August 3, 1931 in New Orleans, La. She was the 3rd of 9 children born to the Union of: Harold Shelton and Mary Belle Shelby The nine siblings: Harold Shelton, Gloria Shelton, Marribell Shelton, June Shelton, Mahalia Shelton, Timothy Shelton, Wallace Shelton, Zadie Shelton, and Cornelius Shelton. After spending her childhood in New Orleans, Marribell moved to Detroit with her first husband, Sumter J. Hogan Sr. From this union spawned three children, Sumter J. Hogan Jr., Kirk M. Hogan and Pat Hogan-Spadaro. During her time in Detroit, Marribell became very proficient in managing restaurants.
