Obituary

Prudence P. Boyland

Prudence Patricia Boyland, age 80, of Sacramento, California passed away on Tuesday December 4, 2018. Prudence was born June 7, 1938 in Eads, Tennessee to Ernest (Timothy) Webber and Josephine (Wells) Webber. She had five siblings; Paul, Edward, Vashti, Eleanor and Doris. She lived in Memphis for about 25 years.  Prudence graduated high school at the age of 16 and was accepted at the private, historically black Tuskegee University but didn't attend due to hardship. In her free time Prudence enjoyed fishing, singing, reading, writing poetry and prose. She would later on in life pursue her other passion of sewing and received her Associate of Arts in Fashion Design and a certificate in Tailoring from Los Angeles Trade Technical College in 1989.

On December 23, 1954 in Hernando, Mississippi she married John Lee Boyland (1936-1987). Into this union they were blessed with four children; Melody, Rickey, Devincea and Prudence.  Later the family moved to the Los Angeles area where they lived for about 37 years. Prudence was strong in her faith and loved singing in her church choir. She was a member of the following churches: True Grace Baptist church in Los Angeles, CA and Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ in Rancho Cordova, CA. For many years Prudence worked as an Electronic Assembly Technician at Leach Relay Corporation. She later moved to Sacramento, CA and resided there for about 18 years.

The love that she shared with all who came to know her shall live in our hearts forever. Prudence leaves behind to cherish her memories, her four children Melody Scott (Conwell) of Buena Park, CA, Rickey T. Boyland (Regena) of Elk Grove, CA, Devincea Boyland (Tammie) of Fontana, CA and Prudence V. Boyland of Sun Valley, CA; her twelve G rand Children: Menika, Amber, Tianna, Jessica, Brandyce, Brett, Branden, Brittan, Breanna, Eddie, Emiliah, and Eimauri; her seven Great Grandchildren:  Mattaio Lee, Johnny Quest, Jade Lashell, Cyniah Marie,  Aiden, Ashtyn, Amaris; her many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
