Robert Earl Griffin was born on December 27, 1949 in Oakland CA to the late Rev J.D and Mrs. Sarah Lee Griffin. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Shanel Allyn Griffin and brother, Bishop Yardley Wendell Griffin, Sr.

53 years ago Robert met Diane Forte and they married two years later. Always each other's rock they were blessed with three children, Robert II, Chadrick and Shanel.

Robert accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age.

Robert graduated from Grant Union High School. Served in the US Army Vietnam War era. He worked over 32 years for the Federal Government and retired from Beale Air Force base.

Robert had a passion for sports and was a complete fan of the San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants and Golden State Warriors. He coached baseball at Burbank High School and Airport Little League where his teams won Sectionals and District titles. Robert enjoyed keeping a well maintained green lawn.

Robert departed this life on November 2, 2021 with his family by his side. To cherish his memories he leaves his wife Diane Griffin, sons, Robert (Rob) Griffin (Jaheesha) and Chadrick (Cedrick). Seven grandchildren; Ronisha (Angelo), Terrell, Jashawn, Aniya, Kaleb, Christopher and Ayden. One Great Granddaughter, Aaliyah and one due in the spring.

He also leaves to cherish his life, 3 brothers; Thomas Griffin of Texas, Jimmy Griffin of California and Nathaniel Roach of Louisiana. 2 sisters; Betty Jean Griffin-Poole of Georgia and Ruth Mary Griffin of California.

Special love and appreciation for Godparents Buster and Margaret Sanders, Special Mom Hester McCoy Snider, long time friend Prentice Smith, Cousins Lorthy McClain, Juanita Jackson, Sammy Rogers and a host of other family members and friends.
