Robert O'Neal Taylor Sr., father, grandfather, great grandfather, Vietnam veteran, fitness buff, professional mover, drug & alcohol counselor and entrepreneur went home to be with the Lord on December 31, 2016 in Sacramento California due to complications following a heart attack.  He was 62.

Robert was born in Sacramento California on August 2, 1954 to Oscar and Leola Lee Taylor.  He was raised in Del Paso Heights, a neighborhood in north Sacramento where he attended Grant Union High School.  Following his education he enlisted in the Army.  He returned home a Vietnam veteran having received an honorable discharge.  Upon marrying his first wife Pinkey Smith, they had five beautiful children (3 sons, 2 daughters). He would later have one more beautiful daughter with his second wife Beverly Whitehurst. Robert loved all of his children very much, no one could stop him from bragging about them.

Robert held many different jobs throughout his lifetime.  As a professional mover, he was always said to be calm, careful and quick. After returning to school at American River College in Sacramento later in life, he further continued his natural interest in fitness.  He became a weight room assistant at the college where he assisted many students with achieving fitness goals.  Robert was very confident in his physical appearance and could often be found lifting weights or getting his daily cardio workout.  He also attended InterCoast College where he received certification as a drug and alcohol counselor.  He used his training to work with veterans who were struggling with addiction. As an entrepreneur he started his own moving business in addition to a body shaping business that generate remarkable results for those struggling with a lifetime of obesity.

Recently Robert found a church home at both St. Matthew's Episcopal Church and Real Life Church (Artisan Campus) in north Sacramento where he regularly attended services and was a very active member of the church.  No task was too great when it came to assisting the church. Robert also had a non-judgmental attitude while dealing tenderly with those less fortunate than he.

Robert is survived by his aunt Adlee Fortenberry; his children Robert Jr., Isaac, Matthew, Leola, Sabrena & Ejavisha, his brothers Oscar Jr., Leroy, Steve and Kenny, a host of beautiful grandchildren & great grandchild along with an immense extended family. He is predeceased by his parents; his sister Shirley and his brother Ricky Sr.

The one truth that cannot be denied about Robert was that he loved being a grandfather as much as he loved cheering on his 49ers.  He also enjoyed collecting vintage toys, weight training, spending time with family, friends and the church in additional to seeking out opportunities to help others.  While Robert is now with the lord, may his legacy of kindness continue to shine through all his loved ones as they live on not in mourning but instead "celebrating his life".
