Sevara South was born on a beautiful Saturday, November 14, 1981, in Sacramento, California, to Arnold South and Sandy Fazil. From the very beginning, Sevara brought warmth, joy, and a magnetic light into the lives of those around her. As a baby, she was sweet and happy, her laughter contagious and her heart full of love. Just three years later, Sevara became a proud big sister to her twin sisters, Shannon and Shayla, whom she adored and fiercely protected. Over the years, her family continued to grow with the arrival of her younger brother Matthew and two more cherished sisters, Nevaeh and Nariah. As the eldest, Sevara naturally took on a nurturing, guiding role. Her bond with her siblings was deeply rooted in love, loyalty, and unwavering support. At 18, Sevara welcomed her firstborn son, Traymond McCray, her pride and joy, the apple of her eye. Sevara then married her husband James Garrett, and together they built a beautiful family. Their love gave life to three more precious children: Jaden, Amari, and Eleesi Garrett. Later in life, she was blessed again with the title that brought her so much joy: Grandma. Her granddaughter Alaiyah became a bright light in her life and held a special place in her heart. Sevara was more than a devoted wife and mother,she was a daughter, a sister, a grandmother, auntie, a niece, a friend who poured love into everyone she touched. She chose to stay home in the early years of her children's lives, never wanting anyone but herself to care for them. She gave her family her all. As her children grew, Sevara stepped into a new chapter and began working for the Department of Justice, where she found success and fulfillment. Her strength, perseverance, and grace made her stand out in every space she entered. Sevara was a proud foodie who found joy in trying new flavors, cooking her favorites, and gathering around the table to create lasting memories. Sevara will be remembered for her radiant beauty, both inside and out. She stood up for what was right, spoke truth with confidence, and carried herself with grace and resilience. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that will continue to inspire all who were lucky enough to know her. Sevara is survived by her husband James Garrett, her children Traymond McCray, Jaden, Amari, and Eleesi Garrett, her granddaughter Alaiyah, her parents Arnold South and Sandy Fazil, her siblings Shannon, Shayla, Matthew, Nevaeh, and Nariah, and a host of extended family and friends who will miss her deeply.
