Obituary

Tamara Marie Brown was born April 28, 1972 in San Francisco, California to the proud parents Gail Saunders and Elmer Barnes. She was the only child from this union. Tamara was raised in San Francisco as a carefree girl until she moved with her family to Sacramento at the age of 8. During her school years Tamara attended Bret Harte Elementary, Charles Goethe Middle School, Luther Burbank and William Daylor High Schools. After High School Tamara attended Sacramento City College and later received her Bachelor's degree from CSU, Sacramento, both while raising a family. It was in college where Tamara met the love of her life, Hermon Brown III. The two were later married. Together they raised three wonderful children. Two sons: Samuel Barnes, Hermon Brown IV, and one daughter Sydney Brown. Tamara was a devoted wife and mother. Tamara spent her working years giving back at the Sacramento Job Corps. She often said working there was food for her soul. She really enjoyed helping the young adults discover their potential. She was also a true friend. If you needed help she was there with her giant heart willing to give you her last dollar if necessary. Tamara was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Barnes and her grandparents, Jesse Barnes and Ollie and Samuel Saunders. She leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted husband Hermon Brown III; children, Samuel Barnes, Hermon Brown, IV and Sydney Brown; parents, Gail and Ken Dyer; loving grandmother, Charlene Barnes; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and many close friends. She will be missed by all.
