"Tommie Benoit was born on the 20th day of July in the year 1961 in Mineral Wells, Texas to proud parents, Thomas Benoit Jr & Magalene Lee. He was the 3rd oldest of 5 children: Harry T. Benoit, Regina Benoit, Carmelia Benoit and Teddie C. Benoit.

A gifted cook, Tommie found joy in the kitchen, crafting delicious meals that brought his family and friends together. He believed that food was a way to connect and celebrate. His famous macaroni and cheese became a cherished tradition at family Thanksgivings, and he kept us all connected to our Creole roots through cooking traditional dishes like gumbo, shrimp étouffée, and more.

Tommie's love for travel took him to various parts of the world, from Europe to Hawaii. He embraced culture, always eager to explore and experience new flavors. He was always going places throughout his life and encouraged others to do the same.

Living a life of mild luxuries, Tommie appreciated the simple joys—a good movie, holidays, shopping, a glass of wine shared with friends, and nights spent out in the city. He believed in savoring every moment and showed those around him how to find beauty in the finer things.

Family and friends meant a lot to Tommie. He served as a proud father figure to his dear nephews for 7 years. In his later years he spent a lot of time traveling to spend quality time with his loved ones. We can't forget about his love for his fish and his miniature Schnauzer Ziya, whom he newly welcomed in 2023.

He is survived by his eldest brother Harry Benoit, eldest sister Regina Benoit-Simmons, cherished nephews Aaron and Eric Benoit, his niece Angela McNeal, 3 great nieces, and a circle of friends and associates whose lives he touched with his warmth and vibrant spirit. As a seasoned traveler Tommie planted his roots in Elk Grove, CA, as well as, North Hollywood, CA; locations where he lived for the duration of his life. His sun set was on September 5, 2024.

Tommie will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his love of family, his culinary spirit, and his adventurous heart. His legacy will live on in all who knew him."
