Warrendell Williams (A.K.A. Goop) was born in Tulsa Oklahoma on March 22, 1937 to Robert Lee and Thelma Darlene Williams. He was the third of nine children. In 1941, Robert relocated his family to Los Angeles, California and in 1956, they moved to Compton, California.

Warrendell attended Centennial High School in Compton, California where he maintained a high GPA, played on the basketball team and completed several projects in woodshop. After graduation, Warrendell played basketball with a traveling team, this afforded him the opportunity to travel the United States while playing his favorite sport.

In 1960, Warrendell joined the United States Army. While serving, he earned good conduct and was awarded a sharp shooter and marksman metal. He was promoted to (PFC E-3) on June 28, 1961. Warrendell received an honorable discharge from active duty on October 5, 1962. He then served in the army reserve until September 30, 1966.

Warrendell was hired at the Department of Water and Power in Los Angeles in 1963. On August 1, 1993, after 30 years, Warrendell retired.

In the summer of 1962, Warrendell began dating the love of his life, Ruby White and on October 26, 1963, God blessed their union of marriage.
In 1964, Warrendell and Ruby welcomed their first child LaShan Evette and in 1968, the couple welcomed their second child Tracie.
Warrendell and Ruby were a great team. They purchased their first home in Gardena California and then Claremont, California. They then decided to follow their grand children by moving to Palmdale and ultimately relocating to Elk Grove California.

Warrendell was a truly hard worker and great provider for his family. There were times he took on multiple jobs just to make sure his family was secure.

Warrendell loved to play dominoes, bid whist, poker, and he truly enjoyed going to the race track. He was a true dog and bird lover. He loved watching western movies, sports and crime solving shows. Warrendell was also known for keeping a well manicured yard.

Warrendell was a strong, quiet presence. A man full of wisdom which he shared freely. He was also known to have a great sense of humor especially in his senior years.

Warrendell loved spending time with his grand children, and great grand children. He always encouraged them to strive for greatness.

Warrendell re-dedicated his life to Christ in his latter years. He touched the lives of many and will forever be in our hearts.

Proceeding Warrendell in death are his parents, Robert Lee, and Thelma Darlene Williams. His siblings, Robert (Verda B), Odessa (Harvey), Anthony, Ordell, Ronald, Darlene (James).

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Ruby, daughters Lashan (Reginald) and Tracie. Along with his brothers Renaldo and Donald Williams. In addition to a host of loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and many other family and close friends.
